I really want a 2025 with the slight refresh. Does anyone here have one of these? I know some folks will say it's overpriced, but I live on a dirt road, so a sports car is out of the question. And hey, this is an all-wheel drive SUV :ROFLMAO: .

I've driven one and they are amazingly fun, and well done for what it is. Granted I work for GM, so I am a bit biased. :)

Yea, definitely expensive. I wish they made a bare bones Tahoe version. I honestly don't care about the fancy stuff; I just like the size and the power plant that it offers.

My sister and BIL have one amongst their fleet of vehicles. It moves for a big SUV. It can't keep up with our X6M competition on acceleration, but the Escalade V is bigger.

Hmmm ok, I have not seen the X6 Comp, I just checked that out on the beemer website and those are very impressive.

I you live on a dirt road and sports car is your interest Porsche 911 Dakar….

I’d pick up a G wagon far before a caddy of dirt roads are in question.

I love gravel too, my family summer home had 4 miles gravel with 1000 ft climb quickly (thankfully paved near home dust) that my wife’s 2005 Legacy turbo wagon and 07 Acura MDX were hoot to drive on and drift.

I’ve rented an Escalade - you get the best of both worlds:

Harsh sports car ride
SUV fuel efficiency

Really not a car I would ever buy. I would buy a Suburban in a heartbeat, but paying an extra $20,000 for a much worse ride in the Escalade makes no sense to me.

Those low profile tires won’t last long on your dirt road, either. Look at the Yukon XL if you want a luxury truck.

For dirt/gravel I’d get a Raptor or TRX unless you need seating for 7. Pretty nice interiors and much more comfortable on rough roads.

Let me add that I used to live on a dirt road in Vermont. Dirt. Not even gravel.

I sliced the sidewall of a 31x10.5x15 BFG All Terrain T/A on my road. Heard the tire bleed out in a couple seconds.

Mud season in Vermont is no joke. No way I would own a daily driver with low profile tires if I still lived on a dirt road. If those BFGs got damaged by driving on dirt (mud ruts, exposed rock buried in the mud) then there is no way a set of 22” wheels with low profile tires - I would want whatever package GM has that is considered “off road” with appropriate tires, like the BFGs.

I feel that I should elaborate on the dirt road. Although we do live on a dirt road, the pavement is within a couple miles in all directions. It's somewhat insignificant, as we have a few smaller sedans and do just fine 96% of the time out here. Nothing will stay clean due to the dirt and dust; rain makes the roads a sloppy mess. The road materials and binding agents tend to cake up on the inside of the wheels and make a heck of a mess.

I want something fast and fun to drive that has good space also. I do like the TRX and the Raptor but I would like an SUV of sorts. I wonder if they even make an AT type tire for the 24" wheels on the Escalade

The biggest thing I'd be worried about is the wax coated frame on the Escalade (or any GM full size) and the dirt sticking to it. Can never get them clean. Probably not good for the longevity either, but maybe if it gets caked up enough it'll actually protect it better lol.

It is an amazing vehicle and having worked in the plant as they were introduced and built I am very proud that they did the Escalade V and even more proud at how they let the exhaust note shine so loud and awesome!! It sounds incredible when started up and under full power - screams!

Plus on the G wagen. Then there's the Lamborghini Huracan Sterrato.

Before buying any hybrid you should know the number of miles you need to drive it each year for the savings in fuel cost to equal the extra cost during the number of years you will have it.

I researched this about 6 years ago. Back then for a midsized vehicle break even mileage was 15,000 miles per year. If you were driving greater than that you V saved, if less than that you were not saving money.

However, the larger the vehicle, the greater the number of miles you have to be driving every year to break even.

Tax incentives can effect those numbers.

Very large vehicles often have the number of miles that have to be driven each year being greater than the breakeven mileage. So know your numbers before you buy.

This will most likely be fun extra vehicle so maybe 5k a year tops.

I don't mind a G-Wagon but... I kind of thing they are fugley. They have grown on me a little over the years but I'm not sure I would buy one. To me, a beemer has much cleaner looking lines but that is all very subjective. I will look at them and probably drive one just to make sure I'm not missing something. I've been known to do that ;)

Volvo XC60 T8 - AWD, 455 hp and amazing MPG...
@Astro14 , I can't believe you didn't suggest a Volvo ;-)

This one?

AWD - and LOTS of power. Check out the brakes!

I’m more of a wagon guy anyway…
