I have a block mounted cooler to fit a Ford 3 liter Duratec V6. Since the Duratec and the Ford 4.6 liter V8 take the same filter (FL820S), would it be possible to fit it onto the 4.6? I know there are cooler adapters to fit the 4.6 that bolt to the block and have fittings to route oil to a front mounted water cooled cooler, but this seems rather convenient, and the old 302s and 351s used them in police service.
