This is from a dip stick after 130miles since the oil change. Is it darker than it should be?

How did the oil look before you changed it?
How many miles on the last oil change?
Not sure how it looked before the last change and it had ~6k miles on it.

Up to 25k, OCI was 5k using whatever dealer used.
Since then, OCI was 10-14k using Amsoil SS and Amsoil filter.
Last OCI was 6k just before the most recent oil change.

Is this engine Direst Injection?

What are your OCI;s on this Vehicle?
Yes, it is direct inj.

Sounds like some Members here who have vehicles with Direct Injection need to chime in.

Have you ever had an Induction Cleaning on this Vehicle?

On contrare, the darker the oil the more fine wear particles or contaminants it contains.
Not true in any manner that can be objectively measured.
Oils have dyes; that's what gives them color.
Particulates alter the color, but the insolubles and soot cannot be measured via the naked eye with any credibility.
Moisture alters the color, as does fuel content, etc.

Further, even if the oil is "darker", there's ZERO indication if the oil is suitable for use or not. You cannot ascertain fuel dilution, soot loading, insoluble counts, silica, etc from a naked eye analysis of color. And, even if you could quantify the color (which you can't), how would you know which contributors were present or absent?

Wanna know if the oil is suitable for use? Get a Used Oil Analysis, not a paper towel analysis.
