Emojis not displaying

Has anything (SW Updates, etc.) on the bitog website been changed recently?

My device (old Kindle) does no longer display the emojis. I can see for example the username/handle of the person who has reacted to a post but not the emoji. I also can't see any emojis within the body of the posts. For example if I am posting and insert a smiley, it won't display once submitted. If I edit the post then it shows up.

not a huge deal but when I am on union break, it will be nice to see the emojis and I will then work harder. Otherwise, I may have to surf the net during non-union breaks trying to figure out what's going on.

No, nothing has changed.

How old is the device? Some older devices won't display webp, but the emojis are png which should display.

Can you see photos that are in posts?

Device is a very old Kindle but it works great and only in last few days started not showing the emojis.
For example after I posted this thread, I could see the smiley I inserted. I thought maybe the problem has been fixed. Then I went to another post and came back and the smiley is gone. If I edit my first post, then I can see it again in the edit mode.

Can I see the photos?
Actually that was another weird thing. Someone posted a picture of their car and others were commenting on it but I couldn't see it. Then when someone else replied or quoted that post, I could see the car picture in the replied post.

Like I said, I haven't touched anything on my side unless Jeff Bezos did a SW update on my side!

I strongly suspect the issue is something on your device. You may try a reboot, not just sleep mode...
