Going to buy myself a Christmas gift this year. Cost on Amazon is $8.99 USD before tax.

What am I buying- a long needed roll of 3M red electrical tape.

I am finding it harder to quickly identify the positive and negative leads to automotive batteries. Assumptions and being wrong can have pricey consequences. My fix- going to wrap the positive battery leads in red. No longer looking at the molded + or - on the battery or tracking down the negative to body ground connection.

$8.99 and Santa for the win.

Home Depot surely does have it. I bought red, blue, green, white and perhaps another color. Old electrical tape can get annoying (sticky mess) but it can be nice as a quick way to color code wire runs.

I have, a time or two, wrapped a present for myself and put under the tree. And of course, the wife knows right away that she didn't get that for me--I can't get away with nuthin'.

That's great tape. You can also use it on Romex house wiring if you're reassigning the neutral to hot for some reason.

I have done this. I have also used the yellow tape and an indelible fine point marker (Sharpie brand) to label wires. Saves time and mistakes on open bundles, multiple plugs, old fashioned spark plug wires.
Next week I'll be checking/cleaning the VANOS on our X3 and will put a yellow tape tag on the upper Solenoid wires so I don't cross them (You have to remove one solenoid to get the other one out, so have to remove both.) People cross them all the time and she won't run very well like that.
When I worked on Marine aircraft all the wires were white, but marked with numbers that you could identify exactly what system on down to the pin in the connector. A simple "Plug A" or "Temp" tag is quick and Yellow or white is easy to see when reassembling stuff.

Need colors and white when doing things like 3 phase, a traveler, 3 way switch…. I like having a roll of red also. Black gets the most use, but man when I need red and don’t have it, i kick myself for not having it.
