I bought this electric trimmer this spring and I've been very happy with it. I've got 1/3 acre to take care of, and I generally trim every other time I mow. The battery easily lasts for two trimmings, and recharges in 30 minutes. It's light, quiet, and vibrates much less than a gas-powered one. It's perfect for my needs, really.

Anyone else have positive/negative experiences with electric trimmers or other electric OPE? Just wondering, because there isn't much talk about electric OPE on here!

We've got a B&D corded electric mower we bought on clearance from Lowes and it's been perfect for our tiny yards. Zero maintenance aside from sharpening the blade once in a while, and I get to store it upright. And much quieter than a gas mower.

We also have a cheapo electric string trimmer... Earthwise? It was the most modestly priced string trimmer at Menards when we went. It's an amazing testament to how cheaply something can be built yet still work... and it still works fine for my purposes, 3+ years on.
