ELC, ELC Advanced and XLC antifreeze

Anyone care to explain like I'm 5?

We've just carried Delo ELC, sell thousands of gallons a months.

I had a customer call looking for purple Detroit antifreeze, which ends up crossing Delo XLC.

Then while digging info, I came across ELC Advanced as well.

I have the spec sheets, but it's mostly confusing.

The way im reading it, theres no reason for at least 1, maybe 2 of
those products.

Customers are all mixed fleet, anything from 1970s stuff to brand new. Most of it 10 years old and newer.

Possibly lifespan is the difference?

ELC is a hybrid OAT with nitrites (NOAT), some OEMs (Caterpillar, for one) insist on nitrites.

XLC is a straight OAT, no Nitrites, some OEMs don't like Nitrites.

ELC Advanced is a 'lowbrid', less nitrites, and it's safe for use in cooling systems with Controlled Atmosphere Brazing (CAB) components.

Already have that, and Chevron business point.

Their marketing terms are confusing.

Oh and I asked Chevron through business point and was told to consult with my local distributor.



I've been running ELC in everything, it's all we sell at work and I can get it for under $8/gallon.
