EGR\PVC

I own a 1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo 4.0L. Does this engine have an EGR system and a PCV system? I am having some idle issues and was told to try and clean or replace these. I already cleaned the IAC motor but still have idle problems occasionaly. Mileage is 107,000.

No EGR system on the Jeep 4.0L (thats a great thing!) The PCV valve is inserted into the valve cover. I like to spray them out with spray intake cleaner a cpl times a year. Just idle the truck and spray into the suction end of the PCV valve. It will clean the valve, the vac line and some of the intake.

I agree, that is a great thing. Do you think it's necessary to remove the plastic elbow\grommet from the rear of the valve cover for cleaning as well? Looks a bit flimsy and possibly able to break easily.
