Egr delete corolla diesel benefits

I will ask the metal welder guy to make out of stainless steel or iron, no alloy. I imagine he can unbolt the two bolts of the egr valve so he can stick a piece of paper so he can make the mold for the plate? would it be easier for the metal welder guy to just take off the egr valve so he can make a mold for the plate? how many bolts does the egr valve before removal? is it hard to take off egr valve?

i rerouted the pcv valve outside of the air intake hose, if there is too much oil it would be better a catch can?

I disconnected the egr vacuum hose and it feels more responsive to me or i am a feeling the placebo effect maybe? Anyways it is better for engine life so i will get blanking plate made for it. Emissions is yearly here, sp i will leave the blanking plate so that it is remobable in case it it does not pass emsission. How thick would blanking plate need to be so it does not burn out?
It does not appear to have an egr cooler according to diagram.View attachment 55276
It is just a simple pipe from exhaust to intake with a vacuum operated egr valve. It is better to blank the egr valve intake side, the exhaust manifold side or both?

just block the vacuum hose if the egr valve is still closing. It is it's own blanking plate

i did block the vacuum hose that goes to egr valve with a screw in the hose. the egr valve though would still need a blanking plate as the egr valve might be stuck open so blanking plate would correct a stuck open egr valve

if the egr valve is stuck open you will know it, no power and lots of black smoke. and if bad enough, you can't start or idle the car.

A blocked vacuum hose is easily reversed and if done right invisible. A blanking plate requires more work, you risk stripping the threads for the screws and would require removing if the emissions tester looks under the hood. Your choice, but you are adding cost, risk and complexity for no gain.

I prefer to blank as egr valve is probably syuck open. if egr valve is mot stuck open it is good prevention tp blank as it might stay open im tjr futire

Looks like it has pneumatic control. I wouldn't bother plugging it, I'd just remove it to verify it's holding the close position, and if yes just unplug the pneumatic control. 5 minutes job ;)

Edit : oups, I wasn't the first saying that, sorry.

Ok ill just blank it.

If the system has never received any maintenance, the pipe and valve are likely clogged with carbon at this point anyway. Blocked closed is much more common than stuck open.

I blanked it with a 3.4 mm steel plate at the egr valve side. got 54 km per gallon on last tank which was less than 64 km per gallon on the tank before that one? don't know why the fuel mileage dropped a bit? might have been doing a little more city driving than before?

anyways i will report back fuel mileage on next tank

am thinking about getting the intake manifold removed and cleaning carbon? anyone seen any gains after doing this

the intake manifold must be dirty from all the egr stuff.

thinking about installing a catch can as breather hose reroute is spilling oil in engine bay

thanks

Good afternoon,

I would like to know if installing a blanking plate on a 1990 1c diesel engine egr would delete the egr and if i would see benefits such as better mpg.

Thanks
EGR lead soot into your intake manifold and over time it clogs it up, reducing airflow and performance. You might gain some mpg and performance if you clean manifold as well.
