Does anyone have any info regarding how much the efficiency of a filter changes due to water pickup of cellulose filter media? Should I see an increase in dP across the media as it hydrates, or a drop?

I've seen data that shows the dP can go up across a filter when the media absorbs some water, but nothing on change in efficiency. I wouldn't worry about it since you can't do anything about it except try to make sure you don't short trip the car all the time and get the oil nice and hot on a regular basis and drive moisture out of the oil and filter. Plus your in Texas so no super cold winter start-up like you'd see in the northern states.
That has to be the post of the year, perhaps of the decade.

No, I mean I thought you might've found/read something about effects on efficiency.
I'd guess there isn't much effect if any, and if there was it might increase the efficiency slightly if the dP went up slightly. Or the other side of the coin is it might decrease the efficiency slightly if the filter is lower efficiency because they slough off more debris as the dP increases. The difference probably isn't anything to worry about. Another good reason to use a high efficiency filter from the start, because they slough very little debris compared to a low efficiency filter.
