I know just about anything will work in my 09 Nissan Versa 1.8L. However, I am currently doing 6-month 7500 mile oci's and thought I would see what the peanut galley thinks.

I also want try something available locally (Walmart) since I just used up the last of my Amsoil ASL 5w30.

This is my wifes daily commuter that currently see's a 42-mile round trip to work five days a week. The trip is mostly county rounds with only a handful of stops along the way.

You can't go wrong with either. A 6K mile OCI with EDGE in my Nissan produced a good UOA. See here. I'm currently running Ultra and will sample at the end of the second OCI.

no doubt both are good oils, edge is marketed as an extended run oil, ultra tho more than likely is too, but it makes no claims as such..................

50% of each. No 30% of Ultra and 70% of Edge. No 30% of Edge and 70% of Ultra. AHHHH!!! I don't know and it probably won't matter as both are good to go.

Edge - just because I have not tried it yet

Running Ultra in my Accord now, it burned more than 1 qt in less than 5K miles, which has never happened before, and the engine seems noisy. Probably it is all in my head, but no more Ultra for me!

Try them both and see what YOU think, that is the most important. They both can easily do those OCI's. Born is the "in" thing PU has the best dose that I know of. Edge is a thin 30wgt. a very good oil too. My Civic loves the 0w20. PU 5w20 for the spring-summer change.

Use which ever is priced better. I've used both in my 07 versa. I ran the edge for 8000 miles and the ultra for 8500. The only difference I noticed was that I had to use more make up oil with the ultra. Whether you believe this or not matters not to me, but, I hear less lifter noise when the motor is cold with edge. Have also used pp and have noticed even more lifter noise than the ultra. When I used pyb, it was quieter than any. Go figure.....

I dunno I said I was going to stick with PP or PU but I so liked how my cavalier ran on the Edge 5W-20 before the headgasket episode that I'm considering doing a run on that just to see how it goes, once this run is over with.
