Hi, Does anyone have experience with the PB200 Echo leaf blower? With my 6 year old Craftsman about to give up the Ghost, I am looking into a new one. They are $159.00 at Home Cheapo. Are these decent blowers or are they garabe because they are the lower price range model? Thanks

Thats one with just blowing function, not mulching, right??? It has a 21.2cc engine, right?
We have the mulching version of same... its great...
Im a big echo fan, and wouldnt think twice about buying any echo product, as theyre all designed for max durability, longevity, and max EPA emissions compliance too (300 hrs).
HD rarely has a better price than a local shop... and the local shop will usually tune it up out of the box and fill it wih fuel... sometimes even re-tune it for free after breakin.
Id look for the price at a local dealer before committing to HD. But Id buy one all the same.

Yes, that is the blower only model. I have a $150 gift card for HD, so I am stuck with them, which isn't all bad considering it is only costimg me like $20 out of pocket!
Can I use TCW-3 certified Outboard oil? I have a couple quarts leftover. It is for oil injection and premix.

I wasnt under that impression per the echo sales book that the local dealer gave me...
TCW-III oil is definitely not optimal for air cooled equipment. In my experience, it tends to cause a bit more smoke and also make everything in the exhaust system get really oily.
that said, ive never had anything wear out or fail either... but real air cooled optimized oil is best. Echo powerblend is quite good, and youll get enough to mix your first gallon of 89 octane (thats right, echo reccomends it!), then you cna use more of that or move on to Mobil 1 racing 2T.
I guess you could mix TCW-3 with some ISO EGD/ API TC oil, but who knows about additive clash and all that fun stuff?!?

My Craftsman has gone to the great 2cycle in the sky as well. I was looking at the ECO but not thrilled with the vertical impeller. I like the horizontal impeller because when you twist the blower back and forth like sweeping over a drive way it doesn't go against your wrist from the centrifical force of the impeller. I have not used the ECO but have used a Shindawa similar to the ECO and that is what I noticed most. I would imagine the ECO would be similar?? Is there a horizontal impeller that is of good quality? I want to try something different other than another Craftsman. Thanks.
I have one. I like it and it is one of the smoothest running units available. However it will suck against your shirt if you let it. I have not found it to be a problem. Even if it does, it won't stop blowing. Plenty of area to pick up air.

I don't have a blower but I have the Echo Weed Wacker. I doubt you can go wrong with Echo.
I would consider buying from your local dealer. They give you good service and that's important. I frequently buy from these local places so they stay in business and I get service instead of dealing with the retards at the box stores.
