Earthquake swarm in southern California

1,000,000 fracked wells between 1940-2014, with >1/3 being post 2000.
Was there a cluster of fracked wells above Los Angeles (post 14)?

1-I want frack map
2-I need fault lines to enhance this thread. Are frackers merely following fault lines?
3-Searches reveal that the source of the hydraulic pressure required is never described. It's repeatedly referred to as "blasted".

Off topic but Gold mines are on a fault. When we go exploring underground you can see the vein. The vein is the material between the 2 faults. Often its crushed from being squished between 2 moving plates.

Called Fracking when they drill and leave behind water to fill the void. Not the full answer, just the summary - but we have been seeing earthquakes in Texas due to fracking for natural gas and such. Very controversial topic.
I know fracking.

It seems the oil is found on the fault lines as well .

Kira,

I have been watching this guy for years he is really good when it comes to Earth quakes and some other things but he talks about fracking and shows lots of fracking areas.

I know fracking too. This is a well being fracked on the North Slope. There are five turbine driven PD pumps in this picture pumping frack fluid downhole at about 8,400 psi. The frac fluid had a pH of 12 and contained bacteria I added to digest the thickening agents to prevent well skin damage, normally about 20%. I was awarded a patent for this. Fracking when done well and controlled under the right circumstances can be environmentally safe. Done under improper conditions much harm can be done. Fracking should be done only in the producing zone not close to zones of fresh water. It is not uncommon for independents to abuse fracking often leading to issues. I don't believe there have been any wells in this immediate area that have been ever fracked. The closest area would be Belruidge where the diatomite zone had been fracked in the 80's.

Quite frankly, I am surprised that folks in the mountain region (esp. UT) are not more concerned.
Mildly OT (but so is James Bond in this thread), what’s the risk in UT?

We rarely feel a quake on the east coast, and in the Caribbean we get quite a few but don’t worry about them at all in concrete houses built to withstand cat 5 hurricanes…
