Just an FYI, these puppies rot out bad. I assume this applies to many engines used in the E39 and other BMW chassis used from the late 90's early 2K's.
Price through BMW is obscene for what equates to some formed rubber heater hose. Through Bavauto, much cheaper.
The ones on my S62 both rotted and split. The replacements came in today from the US, along with my blower resistor module (another E39 fun spot).
Hoses took about five minutes to change. Cleaned all mating surfaces and pipe nipples well. I reused the clamps, which were still in excellent shape. The new hoses were notably different from the OE ones, though these are replacement OEM hoses. The OE ones look like big vacuum lines. The new ones look like heater hose.
Blower resistor module was no where near as bad as I thought it was going to be. Descriptions online made it sound like you needed to be a contortionist. Not at all. With the passenger seat fully back, remove the one philips screw, and slide the access panel back and off. Just below the glove box reach up, pinch the plug to pull it out of the old module. Push down on the tab below it, and slide the old one out. Reverse for installation of the new one.
The new one is completely different from the one it replaced. Supposedly this upgraded part does not fail like the one it replaces.
