E15 replacing E10?

Noticed at my last 2 fill ups one at a Pilot and other at Walmart the E10 pump is now labeled E15. So I purchased E15.

Is E15 officially replacing E10?
This would be a whole lot more useful if you listed your location somewhere.

For example In most of ohio e15 "super 88" is niche and has a separate pump with blue hose.

I dont think e15 is replacing anything. In fact its an oddity for any station that doesn't also sell flex fuel
as its usually made by mixing that with 87 octane regular.

blue hose with blue pump is the e15 (old pic)

Im in Oklahoma. Both, Pilot and Walmart were e10 and e0. Now they are e15 and e0. Both tagged 87.

The AMA (American Motorcyclist Association), has regular updates on the E-10/E-15 thing. The corn farmers are lobbying to get the federal government to require E-15. Under the idea of less reliance on fossil fuels.
Bad news for anyone who uses gas powered items that don’t get regular use, or are of an older design. We all need to be careful when fueling up. If you have a flex-fuel vehicle, no worries.

Pretty prevalent here in eastern Iowa to see E88 which is E15. I’ve not seen it replace E10 at this point.

Just my $0.02

Hope not. E10 has a detrimental effect on mpg in both my jeep and the FJ. We filled up 3x with E0 on a trip and got 2-3 better mpg in the FJ.
your mileage may have increased by 2-3MPG, but what is that as a percentage on your MPG? You need to weigh that against the cost of the Ethanol fuel. Here in Eastern Iowa, our 2014 T&C gets the same mileage E10 or E15 and the price is significantly less for E15. It's been a long time since I used E0 but it had so little effect on MPG it didn't justify the price at all.

Just my $0.02

E15 hasn't replaced E10 anywhere here... Typically one of two setups:

Kwik Trip here does 87 E10, 88 E15, and 91 E0. A few other stations (at least one local Holiday) is the same.

Others have the E85 pumps with a blender option for E15, along with E10 87,89, and 91. The pump blends E85 and E10 to the E15 level...

If the E15 is more than 10 cents cheaper per gallon a prices above $2 a gallon, I buy E15. I've burned thousands of gallons of it in vehicles that allow it per the owners manual.

Went from 17 mpg to 20 mpg

I'm all for helping the farmer, but corn is for cattle. Whatever happened to switch grass ?

More big ag lining up for our money by trying to force us into E15.

The energy in / energy out case for Ethanol is a looser. The EPA themselves say it takes 50,000 BTU to make one gallon of ethanol that contains only 80,000 BTU. Gasoline contains 125,000 BTU per gallon.

I have only seen one pump with E88. I was travelling. If I see it again, knowing what I know, I will go to a different gas station, I won't give that station one penny. I refuse to support anyone that supports that nonsense.

What if the 88 e15 is $2.42 and the 87 e10 is $3.02?
station also has 90octane e0 but $4.29

My car owners manual says e15 is ok... I know which one I'm buying.

Ended up at the same station today. Here is a pic of the pump.
That is bizarre. Also min 4 gallons or violate federal law?
What If I want some gas for a mower? or top off car before a long stretch after grabbing a coffee?

Doesnt surprise me it was a pilot they are are crooked from the top down.. and here we wonder why the Browns are terrible. 😂

It means your tax dollars are subsidizing the lower price.

I don't blame you for running it to save money though. Look out for number 1 first, no one else will.
