E-10 fuel storage & stabilize

Is it possible to store E-10 fuel over the winter? It looks like E-10 only has a two month shelf life. Phase separation occurs from moisture.

Mercury Marine first recommends removing all fuel the tank, or adding a stabilizer and topping off the tank.

I have 30 gallons mixed 50:1 in my boat. I can easily remove it. The local landfill/recycle center accepts oil, antifreeze, paint, but not gas. If I drain it, what do I do with 30 gallons of gas? If it was not 50:1, I'd put it in my beater.

Is is safe to store the tank full, or should I drain it?

Just add small amounts of it at each fill up in your beater. Thin it out to 200:1 or better, and your beater's valvetrain might actually appreciate it.

If you still are leary, add a good gas stabilizer to a full tank.

I'll have quite the cocktail in the gas: AMSOIL HP Injector, FP+, Sta-bil, and possibly startron.

Startron is 95% naptha - so it's a solvent, not a stabilizer. it will "de gum" the fuel system, but it won't keep the ethanol from falling out of suspension.. FWIW, stabil works the same way, only it does its thing with alcohol. clever marketing, those stabilizers..

I wouldn't mix two stroke using E10 if there was any possibility of getting ethanol free fuel.
