Duramax ATF service

I Just let it drip until the last drop drips. Sometimes I will change the fluid early if I need the used atf for a lesser vehicle, like a ford escape.
Why all transmission oil pans don't have drain plugs is one of the great mysteries of our time.

Good find, I kept it level as I was able to go under it as is without raising the front, but I will next time to drain out more fluids.

Once you finish those drain and fills I wouldn’t do it again for 30k-50k Dex VI is pretty good fluid

Ram/Weebl,

I don't want to start any which is better argument here,
I read that article too,
I am making a move to Transynd as this is something I wanted to do from day 1.
My truck sits, I mean sits, it is 12 years old with 20k miles,
I agree dex VI is good and nothing wrong with it, Hence, I am running it till about early next year and then switching over to transynd in phases.

For my honda/ford I do a drain and fill at the end of summer.

Ford DOES NOT have a drain plug, so I bought a suction thing for oil changes, just for the trans service.
