4-6k OCI's.

Wanting a moderately high Zinc/Moly/Calcium level.

All the oils listed have SN/SM levels of additives. XL has a great additive package and 4-6K OCI's will be perfect. Why would you think XL would have lower additives than the oils listed? It's mainly the base oils that distinguish the price differential.

Does it have the stock camshaft and bottom/top end, or is the motor built? Those babies have a full roller valvetrain so zinc shouldn't be too much of a concern, unless the previous owner stuck a big solid lifter cam in it.

So, does it go like stink when you jam the throttle?

I love that feeling of being pushed into the seat!

Stock Cam; this thing doesn't need a performance Cam. Just has the Maggie Supercharger & CAI.

Oh my, does it go! Hit 122mph in the desert for a few seconds.

Dropped it into 5th gear at 70mph several times passing slow moving left lane drivers and in no time it's at 100mph!

Took my wife in it yesterday; floored it in 2nd for a few seconds and the (new) tires struggled to keep traction and almost made me sick from all the acceleration!

have you driven one?
Know of the Pedders Suspension?
Other tidbits?

Pedders is a well known aftermarket suspension Company downunder http://www.pedders.com.au/ Have used their springs and bars a couple of times.

Never driven the Monaro, but it's based on the chassis, floor plan etc. of my Caprice, so I've driven it's siblings, and a G-8 equivalent.

They were also available with the L67 super-6, and a few people are getting great outputs from them...would probably buy an XU-6 commodore before a Monaro, just for the price and practicality.

They are about to move the Commodore engineering overseas, which will be a tragedy to the engineers who designed your car, the Camaro etc.

Both XL & ASL meet GM4718M, which is what I require, but XL is ACEA A1/B1 and ASL is ACEA A5/B5.

Being Supercharged, would it be better if I used ASL or no difference?

I contend no difference.

Ok, I see where you're coming from.

Nice. Of all GM cars, this Pontiac GTO is the only one I may buy if I'm looking for the replacement for LS400.

Looks like the GTO has summer tires, you may want to change to winter or all season soon before a snow storm.

With all the salt on the roads (now after it snowed tonight), I'd have that thing parked and tucked away until spring unfortunately. Good time for the winter toys with 4wd.

Nice car - love the color. My first F150 was a similar blue - still miss that truck.

Oh, I'm not driving it in the winter. It's tucked away. No salt exposure, no way.

I'll be driving that black truck in the background, or get another Saturn.

If I had a toy like that, and I was driving it the way it's 'supposed' to be driven, I'd have a hard time putting anything less than an A3 rated syn.

My choice would be HDD - has the higher zinc/phos. you want, and is till a 'thinner' 5w30. Best of all worlds.

Those are 555R Drag Radials on the back wheels??

Also, are the JBA headers shorties, or long tubes (I'm gonna guess shorties since it was a Cali car

)?

LOVE that color!!

Congrats and BEST of luck/enjoyment with this GREAT ride (one of the most sadly under-rated, and under-appreciated performance cars ever

).

Thanks, guys!

Yea, 555R's.

JBA shortie headers. Corsa pipes & Borla tips.

0-60 is 4.0 seconds.

X 40. A super nice example of a modern GTO that whips anything to ever carry the name before!

Believe it or not, my car has run 0-60 in 4 seconds flat. This was figured from an actual timeslip via an online calculator and is quite accurate.

I'm sure if you could hook all that LS up it could do better than 4.0.
