I have two of the blue HF 18 volt drills. Bought one, noticed the battery did not last a real long time, went to buy a spare battery and found the whole kit with battery, drill and charger was only a few bucks more than a battery by itself. The drills do OK for most household projects, but they don't seem to have a whole lot of torque. They work OK for drilling holes and driving screws. You need to keep an eye on the charger or put a timer on it, it does not shut off after the battery is charged, and that can destroy the battery if it charges too long. For serious drilling or heavy projects I have an old Sears 1/2" electric drill and an older B&D 3/8" electric drill, both of them I inherited from my wife's Dad. Both are US-made and both will handle any drilling project very easily.
