Ah man. . . I thought I was going to read a nice story about you having a run-in with the law.

I don't care for cops much eithe...oh. Those Police.
Like Pablo, I like a couple of their songs.
Sending Out an S.O.S., King Of Pain, and Invisible Sun come to mind.

I prefer steely dan and dire straits to the police (I dont know if these bands were comparable in time frame, etc.), but the Police do have a lot of songs which are now 'standards' for their time.

I really like side 2 of Ghost in the Machine. (For those of you who don't remember albums, that would be the latter half of the CD's content). Omegaman, One World, etc. Stuff that didn't get any radio airplay seems to be better than the stuff we all know. Murder by Numbers & Miss Grandeko from Syncronicity are good songs too.

One of my favorite bands. I have their greatest hits CD. Wrapped around your finger is one of my favorite songs. Stewart Copeland is one of most influential drummers of all time. Anyone growing up in the 80's realizes that. I think the Police and Rush are two of the greatest power trio's in rock music history.

I guess I had all you conservatives pegged wrong. I thought most of you liked country. Garth, Alan Jackson etc.

I actually find Sting to be grating after awhile....as in cheese.

I prefer his solo stuff. Listening to the end of Message in a bottle reminds me of being in church and repeating the chorus over and over and OVER again ad nauseam:

I love bass lines, and The Police always mixed theirs high - + they were good.

Me too. A bass player can make or break a band. Gene Simmons, for all of his marketing skills, is really an accomplished bass player. Have a listen to the Kiss MTV unplugged CD. Mark King of Level42, another great bass player. Entwisle, John Paul Jones, McVie... too many to mention.

IMO, Rocko Prestia from Tower of Power, and Verdine White of Earth, Wind and Fire are two of the best bassists out there. Verdine White is awesome to watch live - watch an EWF concert if you can.

Too late, Shannow, offence already taken.

I'm sure you're referring to Steve Harris - his bass playing was exceptionally fast ... one of the reasons I liked Maiden.
