Does your daily driver have any intake or engine mods?

Schmoe,

I don't notice any difference in noise level or seat of the pants feel in every day driving (I drive with an emphasis on maximizing MPG, so I'm pretty easy on the throttle).

It is definitely louder than the stock resonator when you stomp on the gas, but quieter than a full CAI system that replaces the stock air filter box.

The first mod I did on my 05 Neon was to remove the air intake silencer (huge box in fenderwell). Shortly after that, I removed the complete stock intake. I'm using a CAI with a S&B filter located int he fender well (directly behind the foglight opening).

My 87 Volvo 745 Turbo as some mild air box mods for better flow. I installed 25 mm sway bars front and rear, lowering springs, Bilstein HD's, along with upper and lower chassis braces. I installed a Saab APC (Automatic Pressure Control) System for my Turbo. The system is switch able from the stock 7.5 psi to a maximum of 14.5 psi via a rocker switch on the dash.
At the moment I'm complementing installing an IPD Turbo cam and removing the APC system and setting the waste-gate to 12 psi.
I pulled the automatic transmission out and installed a 4 sp with electric OD for better gas mileage and performance. The rear gears were also changed for better mileage.

The GTI has an APR chip that increases boost to just over 20psi, from around 9psi stock.

The Expedition has an ATI Procharger supercharger, intercooler, large fuel pump, 42# injectors, custom low-restriction blower inlet, custom ECU tuning, electric fans, special Autolite racing plugs and a Costco battery.

My 98 Corvette is my daily driver and it's pretty much stock, other than dyno tuning and a Vararam cold air induction. The Vararam takes it's air from behind the fog lights, so it makes quite a big difference in performance. I haven't been to the dragstrip since having it installed, but many guys have reported they improved their times by 3 tenths and 3 mph! That is a pretty significant gain (roughly 20 horsepower!)

I do worry that my engine might take in more dirt now, so I'm very anxious to see my next UOA (and will only be running a 6k interval this time just to be safe)

I have cold air intake and muffler bypassed on my G Wagen diesel.Made a huge difference in throttle response and top end and the fuel consumption improved as well, best of all the MB engine is quiet enough to take the muffler bypass.

I have two cars the 95 Roadmaster wagon with woodgrain is the daily driver this time of year it get handme downs from it's sister(more later), few mods sofar but probably around 285hp/350tq (260/330 stock)at the flywheel, last spring with fewer mods she wetn 15.5 in the quarter, not bad for a base curb weight over 4600lbs.

. Mods aree just intake, some exhaust and reprogramming for now, gears are on the shortlist of todos.

My other car a 96 Caprice sedan which is VERY much the same car is the summer driver and toy, intake, full exhaust, mild cam, 2800 stall, 3.42s. About 360hp at the crank

and gone 13.2@101mph at the strip. Have some parts on the way and by the time the track opens next month it will have more than that 360FWhp it has now at the wheels

, I am hoping for 380-400 at the tires through an automatic so we are talking 450 or thereabouts flywheel on a stock shortblock.

I know these numbers sound NUTS but maybe it would help to know both cars are LT1 powered.

Not pretty but here are some pics first the intake on the Caprice and here is a picture of the wagon and here is an explaination of why the nose parts in the intake pic on the Caprice shows mismatching color panels. Got an 8 point buck with a 4400lbs bullet

, the glass damage was the airbag not bambi coming for me. Came from the inside of a corner out of a ditch so I never had a chance to slow down luckily I was only doing maybe 40mph. DROVE IT HOME the coolant leak was not bad, try that with some little FWD thing.
