2008 Toyota Highlander AWD 82880 miles. I’m getting a grinding noise when braking from the right rear when its been driven for a while, not first thing. The pads and rotor look fine as does the parking brake assembly. These photos show what the hub looks like. There also seems to be no play in the hub. Any other Toyota owners experience this before?

The last hub I changed, a few months ago, showed no signs at all of being bad. But it made one heck of a groan.

Spin the hub by hand and listen to it with a stethoscope or the screwdriver on your ear trick. If it is going bad, you will definitely hear it. The blue color in the steel could be indicative of a problem too.

I was looking on Rockauto and all the screenshots have that same blueing. So I reassembled the right side and the same results happened. The grinding sound came back after a little drive. Had my wife move it in the drive and it had a good groan from the left rear side🤷🏻‍♂️. I’ll have to take this side apart later today and see if I can feel anything else off.
