Does Kreen Work as Good as PEA?

I put a Pint of Kreen in the Gas of my 2000 Saturn SL2. Within 15-20 miles I noticed an improvement in available power & a smoother idle. t 200 miles into it & all is well.

Here is the ingredient list of Kreen:

Severely Hydrotreated Petroleum Distillates 15-25%
Aliphatic Petroleum Distillates 15-25%
Aliphatic Alcohols 15-25%
Glycol Ether 5-15%
Aliphatic Ketone 78-93-3 5-15%
Proprietary Ingredients 5-15% (Is this PEA?)

We know PEA (which is found in Amsoil PI, Redline SI-1 & Techron Concentrate) works well when added to Gas, but does Kreen work as well??

IMO Kreen is a fantastic product. It dissolves deposits in minutes, works right now, and solved both carbon knocking and stuck lifters right here in our fleet trucks.

Great stuff.

For use in Gas, no doubt that many chemicals / solvents can achieve something similar to what PEA based cleaners can, but PEA is the proven researched tested approved product that for certain does not leave its own deposits behind and is safe to use (its in top tier gasoline too).

For use in oil, many here report great results with Kreen.

For Gas I would stick with PEA. No need to experiment any further when you have something so proven to work as intended.

No it does not. The big difference is Kreen cleans up now, PEA cleaners are slow but also effective.

Absolutely the ONLY product we have ever used that will keep the orifice type PCV clean in our fleet vans in stationary ops...

You cant compare the two, Kreen and Berrymans work best on varnish like the stuff found in seasonal engines that had the fuel go sour in.
I see many injectors that are varnished and for these they work best. On the other hand if there is any ethanol corrosion or hardened deposits you want a PEA based cleaner.

It all boils down to the same old story. Use the right additive for the job, if one doesn't work try the other type.

Seems a bit subjective to me.

Used as directed, no.

+1 no it wont, if anything it will clean the them up if there is any sort of carbon buildup.

Ok, here's an update on 1 Pint of Kreen run in a tank of 11 Gallons of Gas.....

Before adding Kreen I was getting 31.2 MPG's in combination driving.

This tank of combination driving with Kreen I used 9.7 Gallons in 313 miles, which equals 32.3 MPG.

That's an increase of 1.1 MPG, or 3.4%.

Looks like Kreen does the job!

What type of testing equipment and under what conditions was your testing done? LOL j/k

There are a handful of products that actually work as advertised. Kreen is one from a company that's been around for decades. It's an old school formula too that still works.

I put 16 oz (1 Pint, or 1/2 of the can...) in 11 Gallons of gas.

I'm sure the Pint in 20 Gallons will be fine.
