Does anyone know of a good free 2D cad program

Like the title says, does anyone know of a good free 2D cad program I can download off of the internet?

I need to make some 2D drawings.

I use to use hycad but when I tried to down load it onto my new laptop my McAfee antivirus software gave me a stern warning that it contained something that could crash my laptop.

I am wondering what people use today when they need a good free 2D cad program?

I did some google searches and what I come up with gives you a free 7 day trial for something that you have to purchase to keep it running beyond the trial.

Are you doing engineering drawings that are CAD, or are you just doing vector artwork?

Another option is Draftsight. It's a full-featured 2D equivalent of AutoCAD. I've used it for over five years.

You can do that in a word processor, spreadsheet, or presentation program.

I also use Draftsight. It is almost identical to Autocad
