Does American Airlines fly TWA branded planes?

Was that near the North terminal? Trying to figure out the construction
The construction on the tarmac in the picture is between terminal C and D. I took the picture from a plane pushing off from C9, and the AirCal livery aircraft is likely in D9 or a gate near D9. I am new to SEA- I only know terminal letters, not north or south terminal identifiers.

The PSA livery is reminiscent of the old Western Airlines I used to fly on.
Yes, PSA was bought out by USAIR, Western was bought out by Delta.

On or about 1987 I was upgraded to first class on a Western DC10 from LAX to SLC. As a young man getting free booze, what a flight....

Yep that towards the North satellite. That’s where Alaska is situated. They are going to redo that satellite and I suspect the nearby gate structures now that they are done with the South satellite which is the International terminal.

They have been working on that airport since the 90’s. Someday they might be finished. I doubt it though.

I didn’t get first class but I got free booze since I was in uniform.

PSA uniforms were also to match/ compliment the aircraft paint scheme, and the culture of PSA airlines. The L10-11 in the picture also had bottom floor seating..... fascinating..... and of course PSA's trademark smiling face nose on their aircraft.

I always thought American Airlines years ago was smart... no paint, just the Name and a couple stripes. How much does paint weigh that covers an aircraft? That sounds like good $$ sense to save a little here and there in fuel costs with less weight.

I understand that it caused its own maintenance issues - especially since there's no paint to protect the underlying aluminum. Aluminum is actually quite corrosive. It quickly forms an oxide layer that theoretically locks out further exposure to oxygen, like with chrome or stainless steel. We had our San Francisco Bay Area's BART system with unpainted aluminum shells. They showed some signs of corrosion, although the first generation shells were actually reusable and some are still in service after 50 years after the internals were completely re-done. However, that's not as critical as an aircraft.
