This is not something that is 14 months old, you are talking 14 yrs. Chemistries of lubes must have changed leaps and bounds in the past 14 yrs.
Junk it and move on.

Personally I would use it even if it is 20 year old. It is not easy to improve upon SYNTHETIC gear lube.
Send it to the lube museum......what are you saving? $15 versus the cost of a new diff is foolishness to me.

Lube additive technology has greatly improved in the 14 years since this stuff was blended.

Bruce and Molakule have spoken and agree- that's enough for me. These guys fomulate lubricants for a living. You would be wise to take their advice on this one.
How about a little specific on what additive technology that was improved on "SYNTHETIC GEAR LUBE"? Your statement is correct with respect to automotive oil in general but it is not for all SYNTHETIC oil.
Get new sauce.
The older stuff I find that's been sitting around, opened or not, gets used for around the house as an all purpose lubricant. Things work with greater ease and more quietly that way, though sometimes an oil's scent wafts through the air...no big deal. NOt your everyday "3-in-1" oil!
