Do you prefer annuals or perennials?

Bought some flowers today at Lowes and planted them. Almost all of my flowers are perennials with just a few annuals. I would say 90-95% are perennials as I like the reduced maintenance of them. I also try to get ones that flower a long time.

In NC am an avid annual gardener here from March to October. This is a perennial question for me.

Perennials FTW however still a lot of work to cut down everything in the fall.

Perennials.

The garden is a big job as it is. I can't imagine planting all those annuals. We have a 1/2 acre lot with a natural wooded area and a large lawn, which leaves lots of room for perennials.

Perennials for sure. Luckily the previous owner of the house I just bought was a fan of them as well, saves me tons of work!

My wife needs the plants to have their own will to live to be a successful gardener.

Perennials for sure, but I will occasionally put out some bluebonnet seed with hopes I get some of those. I have a big yard, average 1985-built ranch, OPE, and 10 vehicles to maintain (all pre-2005). The only attention I pay the perennials is watering when it’s dry. I try to choose native plants that can handle Texas hill country weather.
