Ordered for DE pickup, the TireRack’s winter tire rebate which ends at the end of this month. Working from a budget, I ordered the cheapest closeout special qty 4 235-65-18 Firestone WinterForce 2 UV 2017 production for $400. The current production is $600. The Firestone rebate is a set of qty 4 - $60.

Decided to drive to DE and save an additional $40 off from TireRack’s pick-up policy and Pa sales tax -$24. Stop by Chick-fil-A for breakfast for $8 and the wife said pay it forward and told me to give a $20. Too too generous, I am no Sister Teresa.

Anyway, we did the pick-up and the grand-total after rebate is around $320. As I was unloading the snow tires, I started to document the date codes: three were 1120 and one was labeled 1618.

Not very ancient for a 2017 production tire.
Please pass it forward next time at Chick-fil -A because good things happen when u don’t expect it.

A friend of mine just bought a brand-new Toyota Camry SE that literally rolled off the trailer and he said the tire date was 0920.

I don't understand.

I was expecting tire production date codes of XX17 but it did not happen. Instead, I received fresh XX20 production tires, and paid 66% of new production tire prices.
Also saved $64 on sales tax and UPS shipping costs and qualified for the $60 TireRack Firestone rebate.
