yesterday.

That is the entire reason I posted a new thread. When I saw that people were still using/recommending MSSE, I wanted to make a standalone thread so hopefully people would see it. I know that article is 6 months old, but it's still relevant.

By linking to a seperate post about a seperate AV you are assuming that people will read that one, and it's important enough to warrant it's own thread, to reiterate it.

I actualy have been using bitdefender total security. I bought 2 of the 3x for 2 year license deals newegg had a while back for $10 each or whatever it was. It's pretty nice so far, though I did disable the built in firewall and reenable the windows one, because it was interfering with network samba file transfers.

webroot 2014 is 5$ currently on newegg (may end soon)

out of free I'd go

Avira then avast

but I've had to fix bad stuff on many computers with everything except eset, and kaspersky.

most frequent victims were

McAFEE, OLDER Norton(new is good),avast, avira,avg

and good ole number 1.... MSE
of course some of that is from marketshare.
