Here's a tip for those who would like to rust proof their own car underside. Motorcycle chain lubricant, get the kind thats somewhat thick as it will repair itself. Plugs are available at Lowes and Menards. Just a tip.

The Amsoil HD Metal Protector is very good as well, on the same order as the motorcycle chain lube.

I use the Amsoil HD metal protector in the house/car door locks and they operate like a hot knife in butter. Can't believe how good that stuff is.

I got my car done with RustCheck a few weeks ago. This evening was doing some searching around on the net and ran across Gunk Industrial Chain Lube for around $4.00 a `15/16 oz spray can and did a little reading up on it and thought it might be benificial to let others have this idea. I'm sure other brands would work just as well.

Any lubricant that displaced water using a thick oily/waxy coating will work, no need to use Amsoil HD. Although it does seem to stand up to salt/snow really well from the surfaces I coated with it.

Can't beat $4/can though...

I read this tip this morning. Tried finding it today at autozone. No luck. Is this something ya gotta order online?
I went to the MidWest 1st time in my life. Wisconsin a couple weeks ago. Very neat stores out there, Menards and Mills Fleet Farm. Lot's of stuff not available here. I bought a spray can of LPS 3. Premier rust inhibitor. Gonna give it a shot.

I would start with motorcycle dealers in your area. I see there is a bunch near Manchester, NH. Remember google is your friend. And yes there is lots for sale via the net/mail order. Can only be shipped ground tho of course.
