Dittmer's Mettwurst

Got my hands on mettwurst from Dittmer's in Los Altos. I't a spreadable, smoked pork sausage. I had it on a crunchy toasted baguette with fried onions. So good, but not without consequences.

Accurst was the mettwurst
Inside my stomach unyielding and hard
like Krupp steel on guard
A culinary travesty
My stomach scarred

I'm sure it was raw. Still fermented and sort of pickled, and of course smoked. But yeah, there'a risk of catching toxoplasmosis, just like when you handle kitty litter. Maybe I should have my antibody titers checked tomorrow?
