Disposal of Trans Fluid

Wondering ....
Can you dispose of transmission fluid at the places that accept motor oil? Can it be mixed in, or do they need it kept separated ?

I know they take your name now; I don't know if they take a sample of your oil to track you down in case some HazMat material shows up at the recycler.

Anybody work at a place that takes it, or at a recycler ?

With most places ATF or gear oil it is no issue. Usually the have this stuff posted or on flyers.

For sure anti-freeze is a big no-no.

Brake fluid is usually a no-no as well - but if the oil is used for "energy" it shouldn't be a huge problem.
