Disk Recovery Software

I am looking to try out some disk recovery software. After looking at the DNS software in another thread, I saw Spinrite. And there are many other products also. I am talking of recovery when the hard drive is starting to fail or has failed. I have not lost any data recently, but would like to try a few of the bad hard drives I have in my pile from friends.

Suggestions?

I have had good results using Parted Magic.

Thanks for the reply, but that really looks from the website to be for dealing with partitions. I want to deal with sectors that have errors and recover them.

Try Recuva, I have used it a few times. Its free too.
