Disgusting Amazon advertisement

About Amazon customer service. I don't think they try to be the best quality of service company out there. They probably used to but not these days, as most people using them are just using them because they are convenient or cheap in shipping, or good in return if you are near a Whole Foods.

At work our Ariba system got through a punch card / ERP order to Amazon with a mistake in shipping speed. Their CS rep were sent to a foreign country with attitude, seem to be butt hurt when I told them it is wrong and they just refuse to let me escalate even when I said I want escalation (it is not about money like my TMO order, we need that part shipped asap and they are the only one has it in China). That CS lady just keep telling me the system can't be wrong and I won't get anything even if I escalate (but it will ding her performance). So after a hang up another CS rep from within US finally understood what was it about. Despite not able to help us other than calling the vendor at least she is not hostile. This is the difference between knowing your local situation / business than just knowing English and never worked in the country you are servicing.

I would still rate Amazon above Walmart in a bad neighborhood, but definitely they are nowhere close to Costco.

Customer service used to be a point of pride for a business. Now, many treat it was something they do because they have to, not because they want to.

In the overall scheme of things, a delayed order of a non-essential item is a minor thing.

But, fresh in my mind, and coming off another issue with more serious repercussions involving my bank, and insurance company, these companies know they have their customers' jewels in a vice, and don't care. Or have to care. What will you do, go to another member of the oligopoly who will treat you similarly? Or in the case of the insurance industry, deign to even take you as a customer?

The first hurdle may be finding and talking to a human. The second may be finding one that comprehends the issue, and attempts to help resolve it. On a face-to-face level, that is easier.

But the third- and where the serious dilemmas begin, are when those people encounter stonewalls from those who can, and should be able to help, and by extension are victims themselves, and unable to help you. These days, they're also just participating in email chains themselves, and insulated from any sense of immediacy or personal interation.

What then?

I think it’s creative. It’s just showing her eating boring food while on her work lunch break.

Amazon is showing you can buy whatever cooking hardware is needed to make your own meals from scratch.
