Discount parts on Ebay

It's a gamble to buy noname parts from eBay. IMO, for lightweight parts it might be worth the risk. For heavy or critical parts, no way. And a 98-99% positive rating for a high volume vendor guarantees nothing about the quality of the parts they sell, or their attitude if you have a problem with the possible junk they send you.

Like all said here, if you buy something from known retailer with good feedback and a part that is easy to replace, go for it.

I'd not buy a hub from ebay, but I'd have no problem with ebay brake pads, front bumper grill, sun visor, door handle, used auto glass, etc.

I should note - I buy lots of auto parts from ebay. You can find good deals on name-brand stuff.

So, I have nothing against buying name-brand parts from ebay. I'm saying don't buy no-name parts from ebay.

To sum it up - DON'T buy your hubs on eBay. Junk part, hard to return.

You will get the best deal on a quality part from Rockauto.com. They sell the same 3yr warranty Timken bearings and Raybestos Professional Grade bearings for an average of $40 less EVEN with shipping compared to Autozone or other parts store.

No unnamed eBay or even cheapie 1yr Autozone bearings because you WILL be doing the job again.

To be blunt: The major drawback will be that the part is [censored].

This mindset is one of the reasons it is hard to buy parts that are made inside our borders now. And then people complain that the whitebox Chinese part they bought for $40.00 and spent $200.00 in labour getting installed has failed in 2 months. Really? you bought junk and it failed? I'm SHOCKED

Buy a brand-name hub, preferably made in a first-world nation. You'll probably pay more. But it will last a lot longer. There's a correlation there

this is the best advice. Dont waste your time and money on ebay parts, especially bearings. You WILL be warrantying it. It will be a royal PITA.
