Here in southern NY same story. Wally is cheaper for PYB, PU, GTX, Mobil 1, and the list goes on. Wally beats AA by $6 on a 5 qt jug. That's a big price difference. $2-3 for PYB.

Not to date myself, but I remember way back when me and my Dad would buy cases of conventional Havoline and Mobil for $.99-$1.49 a quart, sometimes getting it as low as $.69 after rebates. Those were the days.

I still have a hard time wrapping my head around the fact that a basic name-brand conventional can cost you $5 a quart nowadays.

+1 I have already made the switch over to 5k dino runs. I can't justify spending that much money on two GMs. Plus now a days dino is just as good if not better then some semi/full syns....

some of you guys dont realise you pay alot less than most of the world for lubricants and many other things. PU on a shell gas station shelf is 14.99 and thats a standard price with the stations ive been to. A 5L jug of pyb is 25.99$ for a regular price. A 4.4L jug of mobil 1 syn is regular 48.99$ it is on sale today and sometimes goes on sale for 31.79.

Its a rare thing to have oil go on sale around here. The other month i picked up some PP for 25$ per 4.4L It is 48$ regular priced but that is for a 5L. They made the 4.4 a sale jug.

Dino or conventional hardly ever goes on sale here. So you can pretty much pay the same for syn if you look at a flyer once in a while. And keeping a very small stock doing that.

All my vehicles hit the 6 month Mark with about 2-3000KM so I dont change much oil. Work stuff is a little different but also months hit before miles.

I also fall under everyones class for severe service. I get no hwy miles and mainly 3-20 minute city trips. So for me hitting the time for changes and taxing my oil pretty good im pretty happy about upgrading to syn for no more than the cost of dino.

even Motomaster formula high mileage oil which is dino is 6.39 per litre. which is a little less per L than the on sale Mobil but darn close and a waaaayyyy better oil.

Not if you jump on sales and clearances when the opportunity arises.

I walked out of Kmart with a shopping cart full of gallon jugs at $5-$6 a pop when they clearanced a lot of motor oil a few months ago.
