I recently had excellent luck repairing a burned out light bulb that lit my dimmer switch on my dash. The bulb in my switch is a tiny little thing that isn't listed as being replaceable and the switch itself cost $100. So on a quest I went to find a bulb.

I drive a old 1997 Nissan pickup. The switch that I'm speaking of is the dimmer switch that is used to brighten or dim the instrument panel, radio and heater control panel. Inside these switches (also has one inside of the emergency hazard button) is a tiny light bulb used for backlight. I found that RadioShack sells the bulbs listed as a #7219 mini bulb. They come in a plastic bag with 2 bulbs included. RadioShack part number is 272-1092 and they're $1.99.

I'd hazard a guess that these bulbs fit many automotive buttons and switches so it might be a option for someone if you've been living with a burned out dashboard button light. They are 12v, .06 amp with 1" of wire to play with.

interesting. They definitely are a tiny little thing.
