I wanna lose 24 more pounds. To get back to my weight when I left the Army in 1992 and be able to max the PT test for my age group at that time.

I don't know the OP's goal if you were asking him.

Uhh, nevermind

The best advice I can give is eat from the outside of the grocery store. I.E. the fruits, vegetables, dairy, meat, etc. Limit the amount of stuff you consume from the aisles in the middle. That's where the processed foods "live."

If most of what you eat comes from the outside aisle and little if any comes from the other places in the store, you've won 95% of the battle for good food choices.

Now some will argue that the foods are not as good as organically grown, raised, etc. That may or may not be true. But in most cases, that food will be better for you than the boxed, bottled or otherwise processed and packaged foods in the middle aisles.

Weight train 4 to 5 days a week. Do cardio as well 4 days a week.

Diet consists of: Chicken, fish, buffalo burgers, any lean meat basically along with veggies as well.

Supplements: Glutamine,fish oil,multi-vitamins,protein supplements.

No matter what, diet makes or breaks a person. If you have a garbage diet,it wont matter if your in the gym 7 days a week,it's all negated.

I've read some articles recently that point this out. In fact, heavy exercise with a lousy diet can be worse than no exercise and a lousy diet.

It's too bad, because I see people coming to the gym, carrying a empty bag from McDonalds,or other fast food places. It's only then they proceed to "try" to workout,it's not happening.

Resting heartbeat 48, BP 120 over 75, good cholesterol numbers, etc. Still about 40 pounds overweight, but a highly physical job saves me as I get a butt kicking workout multiple times a day.

Diet is anything that doesn't eat me first! Absolutely no fast food or junk food of any kind. Drink a little. Weights and yoga at least 3 times a week.

I take a lot of supplements, they work well for me. I absolutely never get sick, and I greet the public daily in person.

now thats some good feed back, u all r doing well. Me, Im just trying to say fit for my age, 66 yrs young. bp stays around 122/84 and getting better. I good with that.

One of my favorite quote comes to mind.
Eat healthy, excersize every day......DIE anyway!

Exercise:- Weight training 2 hours a day for 6 days a week. For cardio its 10 miles in an hour 6 days a week.

Supplements: Balanced B-100 Complex, Hair, Skin and Nails vitamin, Centrum Silver MVI(2/day), Chromium Picolinate, L-Carnitine, L-Glutamine and Myoplex protein shake twice daily.

Diet: I eat whatever I want. I am 5'11" and 220 lbs with 6% body fat.

P.S. I have to keep doing this as I have MS and exercising daily really really helps!

Naturally high metabolism lol. 130 when I graduated from HS...48 years later 140. I do and have always exercised heavily especially running.

I am a fan (couple times per week) of the Healthy Choice Frozen dinners.

I eat zero sugar and have most of my life. One sugared soft drink over time is linked with a 20% increase in heart deaths.

I'm a vegan and I try to eat at least 60 to 70% of my food raw. I avoid extracted oil and processed food.

I exercise vigorously 6 days a week. Right now I'm doing P90X + running 3 or 4 days a week.

For supplements I do a vegan multi, Vit B12, whole food kelp, walnuts daily for omega 3s, Vit C, and Vit D3. I HIGHLY recommend the Vit D, at least 2000-2500 units a day.

I like the advice by javacontour-eat the fresh stuff and avoid the processed, calorie heavy, nutrient voided stuff in the middle of the store.

Eat well and move around! That's the key!

BTW, good call with the Bragg's ACV! I eat a big green salad out of a punch bowl for lunch and always have to have my Bragg's ACV!

Not everyone works out to lose weight. Some hardgainers have to eat like "ish" to be able to pack on some much needed mass. Lardo's on the other hand, not so much.

At 68 I'm only about 10 pounds heavier than my high school weight. All my life I've avoided processed foods, fast foods, soda pop, junk food, white flour, sugar and large amounts of red meat. I do eat a lot of seafood, limited amounts of red meat, grains, loads of fruits and vegetables and dairy. I work to keep nutrient dense, calorie light foods in my lifestyle.

With a well balanced diet you don't need supplements-leave them for people too lazy to eat right.

I still run almost every day, we bike several times a week (weather permitting), in the winter months we snowshoe and cross country ski the bike trails in the area. In the winter months I use my Bowflex, but don't in the summer since I spend so much time outdoors. Up until about 4 years ago I rode RAGBRAI every year-since I "retired" I'm too busy to take a week off.

I also make sure I sleep well every night and get between 7 and 8 hours of quality sleep. I wear earplugs, use a snore guard, and we maintain a sleep-friendly environment in the bedroom. I awake feeling great every morning, I don't take naps, and never feel tired until it's time for bed.

Much of my family is overweight, and I decided during my college years that I would not allow that to happen to me. It's actually quite easy once you make it a lifestyle rather than a "diet" or another temporary weight loss method. It's resulted in excellent health, no prescriptions, no high blood pressure, blood sugar exactly where it should be, and normal bad cholesterol/outstanding good cholesterol, and no need for any "supplements".

If you "diet" you are going to fail. Diets do not work. Changing your lifestyle and making a commitment to a healthy way of living will, but unfortunately too many people are too lazy to make a commitment and stick with it. Most people who lose weight are doomed to putting it back on, and when it returns it returns with a vengeance.

Correlation does not = causation.

I never get sick either and I drink often and smoke like a chimney and take zero vitamins. Must be my "supplements".

Then again so did my grandfather who lived 73 when a head injury sealed his fate.

Or it could just be genetics.

You dont need to eat bad food to add weight, thats [censored]. You workout, period end of story.Putting garbage in does not equal=quality mass, sorry. Tell a fitness trainer this, you'd be laughed right outta the gym, very bad info.
