Hi gang,
Have been using Soltron and Stanadyne in my boat which
has a CAT 3116 300hpTA engine.
Soltron for the bugs.
Stanadyne for everything else.
What other additives are worth considering for diesels?
I think the Stanadyne is great but am looking for
a better bug additive or one that does both.
Thanks,
Craig

Schaeffer #192 smells like good old rotella DFA, which in my experience was the best diesel fuel add that ever existed. Only add that ever actually boosted my MPGs.

We just started using 192 in the 96 MB E300D, so we shall see...

I use Texas Refinery Corp.'s DZL-PEP fuel additive and Power Service's Biocide to control the black nasty's. I have not run across a "good" additive that had biocide yet.

Gotta go with FP60 - although I doubt it kills bugs.

I have seen significant improvement in all of my vehicles with this, including my VW TDI. The TDI already got impressive fuel mileage, but it got even better with the FP60 - not to mention running smoother and quieter.
