dexron compatible in my 2007 nissan pathfinder

Every site I go to has a different opinion on this. I would like to do a pan drain and fill of about 4 quarts in my 2007 Pathfinder with 100k miles. Can I use a fluid that is dexron3 compatible?

Many over on Xterra sites use Valvoline Maxlife Full synthetic. I changed over with a poor mans flush last year. Used about 12 quarts. That was about 13k ago. Bite the bullet and do it right IMO. Pretty reasonable at Walmart in gallons.
All fluid change is recommended at 90k by Nissan as well as the spark plugs.

I think Nissan matic J is the correct fluid. It's semisynthetic so I wouldn't use a basic dexron fluid. Use something labeled as a suitable replacement.

KInda leaning toward the maxlife myself....

Nissan had a bad batch of transmission coolers inside the radiators and they were hatching out about 90k miles. They changed the formulation of fluid and went with stainless exchanger. I changed out the radiator when I got my X at 90k just to prevent any issue and then went with the Maxlife.
Castrol also make a direct replacement and can be found at Walmart.
Now a replacement radiator is around $150. Transmission seems will never recover from a milk shake if the coolant gets into the transmission fluid.
