I have a Pontiac G8 with tons of go fast parts running in the high 11's low 12's. I have a built trans as well. Wondering what the best Dex VI approved ATF to run? I know Amsoil isn't specifically a Dex VI labeled ATF, but wondering if it's better than Castrol Dex VI or Valvoline Dex VI?

Mobil ATF specifically states it is NOT Dex VI compliant!

I've already had to rebuild the trans once since Amsoil was installed. I don't think Amsoil was the culprit of the failure, but I'm sticking with Dex VI this go around. The specs for the Castrol Dex VI are pretty dismal looking. The Mobil looks the best spec wise, but I can't find it anywhere! The Vavloline looks decent.

You should consider that any ATF claiming to be equal in performance to DEXRON(R)-VI should at least prove that by being able to demonstrate that they have achieved the DEXRON(R)-VI license and thus passed all the necessary testing. That should be viewed as a minimum requirement. Anyone who can't demonstrate that, could be selling just about anything 'smoke & mirrors'

I think the very much minimum requirement part might be right. But paying the license royalty does not mean a product is superior either. To allege Redline, Royal Purple, Amsoil and others are just tossers, may require a bit of evidence on your part. Kind of glad you kept it at "could be".
