What readily available oil has the most detergents in it? I'm talking Mobil, Valvoline, etc., not RP or similar. Does anyone have like a "top 3" for each of: conventional, syn blend, full syn?

Well, generally speaking, the synthetics are going to have more detergents than conventional oils. M1 and PP are two that get a lot of press around here for keeping an engine clean.

M1, Penzoil Platinum, Motor Craft, Valvoline Syn Power & Maxlife

Would be my choices for "off the shelf" oils...

SZyn Oils do have better additive packages including detergents.

Mobil 1, Pennzoil Platinum and Castrol Syntec oils have alot of detergent in them.
