Guys I got my PP 5w20 and my Purone oil filter ready to do the wifes car 2008 Honda Civic when its due. OLM system is at 40% . I was just checking to see if I needed the cap style socket to get the oil filter off. I went and grabed the oil filter on the car and it was loose. No oil leakage. But I could turn it with just my finger tips. Very easy to turn. I tightened it down by hand and went and told her that is why I will be changing it from here on out. WarDawg

Its entirely possible that some time in the future you may forget to tighten the filter also. After we are all human and the perverable shxx happens. But then you will have no one to blame.

Let it be known that it is entirely impossible for me to forget to tighten the filter. I got a neat other trick also . It's has to do with walking on water. No kidding. :) WarDawg

Happened to me on our Escape also. It was loose the entire time during our honeymoon. After that the only one touching our vehicles is me.

Your experience is why a 66 yr. old fat guy (me) still does his own oil changes. Only bad experience I've had was waaaayyyy back when I was 16 and in a hurry I forgot to put the drain plug in. It was an 8 year old Studabaker flat 6 that burned a qt. of oil every 100 miles and didn't seem to hurt it any, course I only drove it about a mile before I got the plug in and more oil in the engine. Dad was not happy with the 5 qt.s of oil in the driveway.
