Delo 400 SDE in a 6.7 Powerstroke?

Sorry for the sophomoric question here. I ended up with this 2.5 gallon jug of 15W40 400 SDE on clearance for less than the sticker price. I know it's not blessed with the Ford specifications. My owners manual states to only use API approved symbol/CJ-4 motor oil, which it is. Would you happily use it in a 2016 Ford Powerstroke? Thanks.

Many have used this without knowing it isn't ford spec'd and they're fine. I'd at least use what you have on hand. You could switch to supertech 15w-40 afterwards since that has it and costs a bit less. I've been using that for years.

SDE is no longer being produced & is why it was on clearance. "Jan 2024 Chevron is replacing Delo 400 SDE 15w-40 conventional to Delo 400 XLE SB 15w-40 Synthetic Blend" The XLE being Ford approved. If you have something else to put it in then do it otherwise get your money back or run it just this one time.

I would buy three gallons of a ford certified oil at WM and use this Delo for the top off. I would feel much better with at least 12 quarts of approved oil in the truck.
