I ordered an H&R 20g ultra slug hunter at the local gun shop just before Christmas with a hefty deposit(dumb, in hindsight). They are giving me a story that their importer takes a while to accumulate a bunch of guns to bring them across the border?
Is this common? Also H&R has changed owners recently but I haven't read that's affected production?
The gun is for deer season, so no real rush, but I'd like to use it for the odd coyote as well as get some practice this summer.

Im guessing its more with the Canadian import laws and procedures instead of the U.S. export side. H&R was bought by Cerberus Capital Management along with Marlin, LC Smith, Bushmaster, Remington, Cooper Arms, and DPMS in recent years. I do know there has been issues with Marlin guns being produced but have not heard about any H&R production issues.

I'm sure there is a bit of red tape to cut, but it seems like its taking to long.

Oh there sure is. My roomie was from Toronto and after he broke up with his girl, he moved back home. Took him a long while to get through the redtape. Of course that is a single person, not a business.
