Bought a 55 gallon drum (plastic) about a month ago. I was never told to use a special plastic pump in it. A metal hand pump has been used and now fluid has turned orange. I was told can't use. If this is case I am out the cost of drum and any disposal cost. Can this fluid be used like this ? Can I dilute with new fluid and use that way ? Thanks for the help !

We have a heated, insulated plastic tank of DEF at work. It holds 2500 gallons when full. The tanker trailer that brings it has to pump it in. The tanker has a Honda gas powered pump on board.

Depending on what you're using it in a derate+tow+repairs could cost a lot more than a drum of DEF and you'll still need a new drum.

It will make great lawn fertilizer as it is pure Urea and distilled water

My brother, that runs Freightliner shops, says DO NOT USE IT!
Actually he said "DEF-initely don't use it". :)

He also added that if an OTR truck, it would be like asking for a $12,000 repair bill!
