do you go to distribution center to get your oil or have it shipped. i would think with tax and shipping cost, it would cost more than mobil. which amsoil oil are we talking about?

Mulaka,
Run that oil until the maximum drain interval shown in your owner's manual. Then, choose your oil, and again run for the drain interval shown in the manual. You NEED to protect your warranty. Alternately, have an oil analysis taken at the time you drain your synthetic oil. If the analysis is good, your warranty is protected. If not...sorry.

If that truck's running good with the Amsoil leave it be. I have no preference for either Amsoil or M1, I, in fact have only used Havoline dino for a LONG time without issue.

One OCI is not going to make a difference in the longetivity of that truck. If it's causing a problem, i.e. clatter, sluggishness, then yes I too would be tempted to change out.

But, turn the table for a minute, what if you put in M1 and decide you don't like the way the truck sounds - you've just lost a perfectly good amount of $$$.

Heck, who knows, maybe at the end of 4K, you'll decide to try something other then M1.

This vehicle has a VG33 engine, not the more common VQ-series engine that certainly loves a thick 30-weight or a thin 40-weight oil. However, looking at this UOA with GC it looks like the VG engines might share the same preference.

As such, I'd be tempted to go with Mobil 1 0W-40 if you can't find the green GC in your neck of the woods.

But then again, MolaKule achieved great results with Mobil 1 10w30 in this engine.

Not after shipping you don't. I just bought 32 qts of Amsoil 5w30 and 10w30 and total was $179. That includes $19 shipping. The price is $5.59/qt. This might be my last order. Walmart has M1 in 5 qt jugs for $4/qt. Mobil 1 Extended Performance in the 5 qt jugs is $5/qt. We also now have Pennzoil Platinum and Mobil Clean 7500. I'm not sure it's worth it any more.
