I been to Pearl harbor remember that wall well to see all the names was heartbreaking
Do you put a "like", "love", "sad" or "angry" as the emoji acknowledge.
Went the Hawaii on my honeymoon. Very heart breaking and somber going for the tour of Pearl Harbor. Love the respect from most people that go to learn and feel the same way. Respect and honor those that were there as well as all of our military, past, present and future.
Angry for all the lost.

My wife and I went to the AZ memorial just this year on a trip to HI.
Spent the day at the museums and Memorial.
Hallowed ground, so to speak.

Went to Pearl Harbor about a year ago. You really get a new perspective on it when you are there. The harbor is really quite small compared to what I imagined. Also humbling when standing on the Arizonas platform, you still see oil from the ship leaking to the surface.
My wife was born and raised very close to Pearl. My FIL was under house arrest in HI. Joined the USA Army in 1946 and went to occupied Japan, met my MIL, who was born in Hiroshima, but by the grace of God moved north in 1940 or so. Complicated times, but these Japanese people were very pro-USA, despite all that.
For sure the AZ memorial is on my HI bucket list - Of all the times we have been to Oahu, it's been closed or we couldn't get tickets for that day or something lame. But admittedly two of the trips were relative's funerals.

Havent been to Pearl Harbor since the late '80's and even though I was very aware of the history and what happened, being a teenager I dont think I was really old enough to appreciate where I was the way I would now. Hoping to get back soon.
Have not been back to Pearl since the fall of 1969, was on the USS Constellation,,I was younger once..lol
My mom was a young girl on December 7th 1941. She had relatives ( I do too of course, I just never met them) who had a house overlooking Pearl Harbor. They watched as the attack unfolded. I can't imagine what those relatives felt experiencing that. It was days before my maternal grandparents were able to contact the relatives in Hawaii.
