You are supposed to cut open, take the paper and plastic out and recycle the metal for crying out loud!

Filter disposal is a MAJOR environmental issue.

1000's of millions disposed every year!
Imagine that!

Give me your address and Ill send all of mine over to you.

Was this filter crushed or was it imploded? With the metal hoses in the first picture, it makes me wonder. I've never heard of people crushing filters before disposal.

Read about the laws of the land for crying out loud, If you don't like move along .

Lots of shops have filter crushers. That way they take up less room in the 55 gallon drum. They get picked up with the oil, and do get recycled. Saw a really neat video about it a while back...

I have a small company that does what you just described, Our crushers get 95 to 98% of the oil out of the filter's ready for the scrap pile , after that it is exported to South Korea for cars & smart phones

Our used oil is used for asphalt.

Everyone must be concerned about the environment we live in.
IF not, you are a Troglodyte.
Team mentality again working to destroy the planet.

Isn't the disposal process to crush them to remove as much oil as possible and then incinerate them until all of the non-metal parts are gone? Then the leftover burned metal is sent to the recycler?

Looks pretty cool. I'd like to put a can of Campbell's baked beans in there that I've been meaning to get rid of. I like the Bush's baked beans much better.
