A Challenging Tribute: White Sands Missile Range Hosts the 36th Annual Bataan Memorial Death March. WHITE SANDS MISSILE RANGE, N.M. (March 22, 2025) - A remarkable 4,603 participants participated in the 36th Annual Bataan Memorial Death March, held on March 22 at White Sands Missile Range.

For those not familiar with the Bataan Death March, I think it is a very worthwhile read.

I've known of this from history, but when it comes to mind I cannot help but to be mad, sad and humbled all at the same time.

At the end of WWII, those who were in German POW camps adjusted much better than those who had been in Japanese POW camps. In WWII, the Japanese military considered anyone who was taken prisoner to have lost their honor. At Bataan, the Americans and Filipinos who fought there were heroes who fought as long as they could. They deserved far better treatment.
